About the Erasmus+ Sport CR 2025 Program

This project aims to create a space where coaches can organize, share, and manage their training materials, while also exploring new ways to make remote learning and remote coaching in team sports possible – a challenge that is particularly demanding in all team sports –  especially those that lack resources.
We are also testing ways to integrate new technologies and learning models to help team sports catch up in this area too.

Here’s what the curriculum includes:

Three teams of coaches from Italy, Spain, and Greece have created in digital format:

  • 30 skill cards (attached you’ll find the categories and titles to see how the content is organized)
  • 60 drill cards (two drills for each skill card)
  • A 6-week daily training program (~1 hour per day, 5 days per week)
  • Weekly challenges for all participants
  • A set of 8 assessment tests to complete on the first and last day of the program, to track progress in key skills along with a handout: “Proposed guidelines and recommended methods for performing the pilot program assessments.”
  • A handout for coaches: “Learning Theories and Coaching Practices: A Guide for Coaches “
  • A handout for coaches: “Proposed Use of Skill and Drill Cards”

This material will be available soon:

All materials are and will remain free of charge indefinitely.

Background and Philosophy

The Project Coaching Reimagined introduces an innovative approach to team sports coaching through the development and implementation of a web-based learning platform. The initiative seeks to transform sports education into a more accessible, inclusive, and interactive experience for athletes and coaches as it empowers them to take an active role in their development while fostering collaboration and engagement within the coaching process.

Centered on the sport of water polo, the project is designed to scale across all team sports. A central outcome is the creation of a user-friendly digital platform that enables coaches to digitize, organize, and share their curriculum in a structured and customizable format. This mapping model not only simplifies curriculum design but also supports the seamless integration of individual coaching methodologies.

Timeline

The project begins with the digitization of coaching curricula from selected professionals in three European countries, in collaboration with their athletes. These resources will then be used to develop a six-week interactive course incorporating drills, challenges, assessments, and questionnaires. The course will be delivered both locally and remotely, free of charge, to ensure broad participation and inclusivity. Weekly challenges will encourage international collaboration among participants and foster a strong sense of community.

Following implementation, participating clubs will submit detailed reports on outcomes and recommendations. All learning materials will remain publicly available for at least five years, promoting long-term access and equity in sports education. To conclude the project, all partners will convene in Greece for a final seminar to share insights, evaluate the process, and strategize future collaborations.
